In a heartwarming collaboration between the children of Puffin Pre-School and the residents of Redbond Lodge care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, a special arts and crafts session was held to decorate paper baubles for the local St Mary’s Church Advent display. This year’s theme for the Church’s Advent celebration is “JOY,” and the baubles created by the children and residents will help bring this joyful spirit to the church’s decorations. The morning was filled with creativity, laughter, and the shared joy of making something beautiful for the community.
The event marked a wonderful opportunity for the younger and older generations to come together, fostering meaningful connections and creating lasting memories. Both the children and the residents enjoyed working together on the decorations, exchanging stories and life experiences while making art. The baubles will not only be a part of the church’s Advent display but also a reminder of the joy that can be shared across generations.

The residents received so much joy from spending time with the children. The whole morning was a delightful visit for both groups, and they were thrilled to contribute to the Advent celebrations in such a meaningful way.”
