Four Acres care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently hosted Aunty Jen’s Productions, a talented local theatre company, for a week of lively rehearsals for their upcoming pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. This unique collaboration has become a cherished tradition, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy to residents, staff, and families alike.

Aunty Jen’s Productions, a small team of dedicated actors based in Studley, performs shows year-round and has been rehearsing at Four Acres three times a year for the past year. From 18th November, the café at Four Acres was transformed into a vibrant rehearsal space. Despite the bustling activity, residents, staff, and family members continued to access the café, where they were warmly welcomed to watch, engage with, and even join in with the rehearsals.

The actors went above and beyond to ensure residents felt part of the magic, interacting with them throughout the week. This partnership has strengthened Four Acres’ connection with the wider Studley community, ensuring residents remain actively involved in village life. The week concluded with a special dress rehearsal performance of Jack and the Beanstalk for residents, giving them a front-row seat to the show’s grand debut.

Diane Wood, Lifestyle Coordinator at Four Acres, reflected on the impact of this ongoing collaboration:

“It’s lovely they come here, and they’ve become part of our Four Acres family. Residents love it, and it’s become the norm for them to be here. The joy and connection this brings to everyone involved is truly special.”

This partnership exemplifies the spirit of community and connection that defines Four Acres. By opening its doors to local groups like Aunty Jen’s Productions, the care home continues to enrich the lives of its residents while fostering meaningful ties with the Studley community.
