Residents from Four Acres Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, had a wonderful day out on 11th February, as they visited Attwell Farm, enjoying the fresh air, friendly animals, and a delightful picnic. The trip, organised by the care home’s lifestyle team, provided residents with a chance to reconnect with nature and reminisce about fond memories.
The outing was particularly special for some residents, including Gill, who shared, “I have really enjoyed this morning, it’s so nice to get out and see all the animals.” The visit brought joy and nostalgia, especially for one resident who had grown up around animals, making the experience even more meaningful.
Accompanied by lifestyle team members Kayleigh and Diane, a group of seven residents explored the farm, met various animals, and later enjoyed a picnic lunch with warm drinks. The day was filled with laughter, smiles, and a wonderful sense of community spirit.
Kayleigh, Lifestyle Coordinator, emphasised the importance of such outings, stating, “These trips allow residents to experience local places, interact with the community, and create special moments. Seeing their happiness makes it all worthwhile.”
The atmosphere throughout the visit was joyful and uplifting, with residents fully embracing the experience. As the day came to a close, their smiling faces were a testament to the success of the trip, highlighting the care home’s commitment to providing engaging and meaningful activities.
