On Friday 12th April, Park View care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was transformed into a scene from Alice in Wonderland as residents, staff, and relatives gathered for a magical Mad Hatter Tea Party.
Park View’s Lifestyle and Management team worked together to bring this imaginative idea to life, creating a colourful and quirky Mad Hatter-themed tea party. With a charming mix of teapots, teacups, themed decorations, and high tea-style nibbles, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and joyful energy. Staff and residents fully embraced the theme by dressing in fancy costumes, accompanied by whimsical music playing in the background.
Lifestyle Coordinator Bridie shared the success of the environment, commenting, “The day went well, and everyone enjoyed the event.”
Visitors and residents alike praised the event. Relative Darrell commented, “It has been enjoyable, and my aunt enjoyed it too.”
Another relative, Carol, added, “It’s all so lovely. I love all the outfits — you all look brilliant!”
The atmosphere throughout the event was described as fun, energetic, and full of laughter. One of the standout moments was seeing the residents’ faces light up with joy as staff members arrived in costume and performed playful role-plays to immerse everyone in the magical world of Wonderland.
Events like this are an important part of life at Park View, bringing people together for moments of connection, celebration, and fun.
