Residents, staff, and families at Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together for a fun-filled day of movement and togetherness during the Longview Mini Marathon 2025, held on Sunday 27th April. The event was a joyful tribute to the iconic London Marathon, allowing residents to take part in a fun and inclusive celebration of movement and community spirit.
The idea was sparked by Heather, one of the lifestyle coordinators, who wanted to create an event that brought the excitement of the London Marathon to Longview. With medals awarded to every resident who completed laps of the grounds, the sense of achievement and camaraderie was truly heartwarming.
Resident Dave expressed his enjoyment for the event, sharing that he “loved taking part in the Longview marathon. It was nice to stretch my legs.”
The event saw families join their loved ones on the course, filling the atmosphere with laughter and encouragement, as everyone cheered each other on.
To finish the day, everyone came together for a group photo—applause echoing, smiles wide, and medals proudly on display.
Longview’s Mini Marathon proved to be a wonderful way to stay active, create memories, and celebrate together as a community.
