Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group hosted a fun summer carnival, filling the gardens with lovely decorations, music and delicious snacks.
The event offered something for everyone. Guests enjoyed live entertainment from Bobby “Bob” Star, who performed favourite summer hits, and a lively Zumba demonstration by Rachel and Lucy that had many up on their feet singing, dancing, and joining the fun.
The carnival atmosphere was completed with a stilt-walker, who provided plenty of laughs, and a nostalgic Punch & Judy show, delighting guests of all ages. A delicious BBQ was prepared by Windmill House head chef and a selection of sweet treats kept everyone refreshed throughout the day.
There was no shortage of activities, with a variety of stalls and games including tombola, “water or wine,” bric-a-brac, lucky dip, a sweet cart, and garden games. Staff embraced the festive spirit, dressing in bright colours and carnival costumes — Carlie as a clown and Steph as a ringmaster.
Relative Sue Appleby praised the event, saying:
“Such a lovely event. All your hard work paid off. Well done, everyone! The Zumba demonstration was great fun and got everyone singing and dancing. Just a lovely afternoon. Amazing amount of money raised. Well done.”
The atmosphere was energetic with standout moments, including the stilt-walker’s playful interactions and the Zumba session that brought people together in movement.
Carlie and Steph shared: “Events like this are so important to bring everyone together to enjoy, relax, and support one another.”
The Summer Carnival was a resounding success, leaving everyone looking forward to the next big celebration at Windmill House Care Home.
