Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, hosted a lively and heartwarming session as residents gathered in the conservatory for their weekly Movement to Music session. It is an engaging group exercise activity that is quickly becoming a highlight of the calendar.

Led by resident Kevin, the group moved in time to a vibrant mix of music, using a range of fun and interactive props including the octaband, parachutes, resistance bands, and balloons. This creative approach to exercise is not only keeping residents physically active but is also building strong social bonds.

“It’s a great atmosphere, some good music, a bit of a workout and seeing some friendly faces. We have a great time, and it’s an honour to lead this group of people,” said Kevin, one of the home’s own residents and the inspiring leader of the session.

Other residents shared their joy about the weekly sessions:

“It’s such great fun, I love joining this group,” said Irene.
“Everyone has such a wonderful time, we laugh, exercise, and sing,” added Margret.

Lifestyle Coordinator Naomi, who helped develop the program, commented on its growing popularity:

“The residents love following Kevin’s lead during these sessions. It’s become increasingly popular and is always such fun to be part of.”

These weekly gatherings are more than just exercise as they play a vital role in improving physical health, boosting mental well-being, and enhancing overall quality of life for residents at Loganberry Lodge. The positivity and motivation in the room were clear to see, making Movement to Music a shining example of community-led care at its best.
