On Friday 3rd October 2025, residents from Mulberry Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to a truly special experience, a traditional afternoon tea at the stunning Flitwick Manor, a Grade II listed building now operating as a hotel.
The trip, organised by Lifestyle Coordinators Kirsty and Karen, alongside Jimmy, the home’s friendly minibus driver, was inspired by residents who had expressed a desire to enjoy an elegant outing. After exploring options in the local area, Flitwick Manor was selected for its historic charm and serene surroundings.
“It was a lovely experience that many hadn’t had the chance to enjoy for a long time – or ever before.” said Kirsty, Lifestyle Coordinator at Mulberry Court .
Despite some rainy weather, the group received a warm welcome from the manor’s staff and enjoyed a selection of homemade sandwiches, cakes, and teas. The elegant setting and attentive service made the residents feel like royalty, bringing smiles and warm conversations throughout the afternoon.
One standout moment came as the residents admired the scenery and beautifully mature gardens and shared a few laughs over the surprising number of molehills dotting the landscape!
