Mulberry Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly hosted a heartwarming Silver Sunday celebration on Sunday 5th October 2025. The event brought residents and team members together for an afternoon filled with laughter, music, and meaningful connections.
The event featured classic sing-alongs led by Kirsty, Lifestyle Coordinator, a lively few rounds of bingo, and a balloon roll game. Residents enjoyed a wonderful spread of tea, coffee, cakes, and biscuits which created the perfect atmosphere for socialising and new friendships.
The atmosphere was described as “very upbeat and lovely,” with plenty of smiles, laughter, and cheerful conversations. Residents and team members alike shared how much they enjoyed the event and how uplifting it was.
The idea for hosting Silver Sunday came from Age UK’s annual initiative and was embraced by the Runwood Homes Group. The initiative is brought to tackle loneliness and social isolation among older people. Silver Sunday encourages communities to come together and host inclusive events, recognising the contributions of older adults and helping them feel valued and connected.
“It’s very important to keep relationships, old and new, current, and to forge these lifelong bonds,” added Kirsty.
The event showcases Mulberry Court’s commitment to promoting social interaction, mental wellbeing, and community. This Silver Sunday event was enjoyed by all involved and highlights the importance of community at Mulberry Court.
