Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, hosted United in Culture Day, a vibrant event designed to honour diversity, enjoy the rich flavours and sounds of cultures from around the world.
The home’s garden was beautifully decorated with flags of the world, creating a colourful backdrop for the festivities. The Lifestyle Team prepared a mouthwatering selection of homemade dishes, including Thai green curry, sweet and sour chicken with rice, and samosas, filling the air with delicious aromas that everyone enjoyed.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the talented ‘Steel Here’ Community Steel Band from SEACA in Southend performed a lively set of steel drum music, which proved to be one of the day’s highlights.
“We have had a lovely day playing for your residents. Thank you so much for having us,” said Shirley from SEACA’s ‘Steel Here’ Steel Band. “It’s important for our young adults to have the confidence to perform for our wider community.”
