Rosedale Court Brings Disney Magic to Residents and Families

Disney day

Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, held a heart-warming Disney Family Day that brought joy, nostalgia, and special moments to residents, families, and children alike.

The event featured a variety of magical experiences, including a Disney-themed raffle, delicious refreshments, and a stunning live performance by Ruby Finch, who captivated audiences as Belle. One of the biggest highlights was the arrival of Mickey Mouse, who “flew in from the USA” to spend the afternoon meeting residents, families, and little ones, a moment that filled the home with excitement and wonder.

The day received an outpouring of positive feedback from families and visitors:

  • Michelle B: “This was lovely — my mum loved it. Thank you, Rosedale, another great enrichment day. Well done and thank you.”
  • Michelle CS: “It was a truly beautiful day. It filled me with emotion watching the children interact with the residents… the smiles were contagious. Belle’s voice made me cry, so beautiful.”
  • Dreams Come True – Character Appearances: “The most magical afternoon with you all again. Thank you for having us.”

D1 Wellbeing RosedaleThe event was made possible with the help of Louise and Claire from the Lifestyle Team at Rosedale Court, live singer Ruby Finch, and Brittney, who brought Mickey Mouse to life on behalf of Dreams Come True. Their combined efforts created a multi-generational celebration that connected everyone through shared joy and timeless Disney magic.

Louise emphasised the importance of the day:
“Bringing the magic of Disney to Rosedale Court is fantastic. Mickey Mouse is loved across generations and brings so much happiness. It brings out the child in us all.”

This year’s event built on the success of last year’s Disney Day, with the addition of a live singer making the experience even more immersive. It was Ruby Finch’s first time performing in a care home, and she shone in her role as Belle, helping to create an atmosphere that was magical, fun, emotional, and lively.

Standout moments included residents’ radiant reactions to Mickey’s arrival, as well as a touching exchange when 102-year-old Ivy told Mickey Mouse, “I remember when you were born!”, a playful nod to Mickey’s 97-year legacy.

Rosedale Court is proud to have created a day full of joy, connection, and treasured memories, a celebration that brought generations together through the timeless magic of Disney.
