Lux and Plush Restaurant Teams Up With Silvanna Court Care Home for Major Community Charity Event

Silvanna Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, have announced a generous partnership with Lux and Plush, a Turkish restaurant in Wickford, resulting in a large-scale charity event supporting local elderly residents.

Eness Anil, Manager of Lux and Plush, shared his motivation for taking part:
“I want to give back to the community, especially the elderly, and as Leah and Layla (Lifestyle Coordinators at Silvanna Court) came to me with their brilliant Ice Bucket Challenge fundraiser, I wanted to help the home that they work in.”

The event will see Lux and Plush donating a total of 100 meals to the Silvanna Court community. This includes 80 takeaway meals for every resident in the home, along with 20 seated meals, each including a complimentary drink, at the Wickford restaurant.

Leah explained how the initiative came to life:
“I approached the manager for a donation for my Ice Bucket Challenge that I’m doing with Layla to raise funds for our Christmas parties for our residents. The manager donated to this and then he asked if we wanted the meals. We are utterly speechless—how kind and generous!”

The charity event aims to provide residents with not only a delicious meal but also an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, socialise, and participate in the wider community, experiences that can be difficult for some residents to access independently.

The idea arose when Eness kindly offered to help further, extending his support from the Ice Bucket Challenge donation to a much larger gesture intended to brighten the lives of Silvanna Court’s residents.

The team at Silvanna Court are overwhelmed with the support received from the local restaurant and they have in turn sought to make this an even bigger community outreach by spreading the generosity and love to the wider community, ensuring that everyone benefits from the kind donation from Eness.

When asked about anticipated highlights, the coordinators say simply:
“Wait and see!”
