Residents from Alexandra House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a festive and memorable outing on 11 December 2025, attending the Hunters Meet Afternoon Cabaret Christmas Special, following a resident-led request to return after a previous visit earlier in the year.
The trip formed part of the home’s minibus outings programme and reflected the importance of listening to residents’ wishes. Residents, staff, and family members came together to enjoy a delicious three-course meal, live entertainment, and an afternoon filled with singing, dancing, and festive cheer.
The atmosphere throughout the event was full of joy, warmth, laughter, and smiles, with residents fully embracing the Christmas spirit. A standout highlight came when residents took to the dance floor to sing and dance alongside Debbie the singer, creating moments that will be fondly remembered. Members of the wider community also stopped to praise the residents and staff, adding to the sense of pride and connection.
The Lifestyle Co-ordinators at Alexandra House, commented:
“This was requested from the residents as they enjoyed it so much the first time, the residents got into the festive spirit dancing and singing to the live entertainment which they all thoroughly enjoyed. As Lifestyle Co-ordinators who went we are very proud to be working at Alexandra House, seeing the residents having fun, smiling and being part of making special memories that we have shared together.”
Feedback from residents and families highlighted the impact of the day. One family member said, “It was a wonderful day, you all worked really hard—well done,” while a resident shared, “What a lovely way to start Christmas.” Another resident added, “Can’t wait for the next one,” and a family member commented, “Thank you so much for taking Mum out, the videos of her dancing were lovely.”
