Bramwell Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with joy and celebration on 6 January 2026 as residents, staff, families, and members of the local community came together to mark an extraordinary milestone, the 100th birthday of one of their much-loved residents.
The centenarian’s special day was made truly unforgettable with a surprise visit from her favourite bird, an owl. The visit brought delight, wonder, and emotional moments, particularly as the resident has fond memories of owls from her younger years. The sight of her face lighting up as she met the owl again was a magical highlight for everyone present.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, the resident was honoured to receive a congratulatory card from His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen, recognising her rare and remarkable achievement of reaching 100 years of age.
Mable Joloza, Home Manager at Bramwell Care Home, commented:
“Reaching 100 years is an extraordinary achievement, and it was incredibly important for us to celebrate this milestone in a way that truly reflected her life.”
The celebration was planned following the arrival of the Royal card, inspiring the care home team and the resident’s family to create a day filled with warmth, meaning, and personal touches. The atmosphere throughout the event was joyful, emotional, and full of love, highlighting the strong sense of community at the home.
Bramwell Care Home is proud to honour and celebrate its residents as individuals, ensuring that special moments like these are cherished by all.
