Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with music, laughter and nostalgia on 07 January 2026 as residents, relatives, staff and members of the local community came together for a memorable event titled “An Afternoon with Elvis.”

The home welcomed Alex, the Young Elvis Tribute performer, who delivered an energetic and heartfelt performance of Elvis Presley’s greatest hits. More than 30 residents, alongside family, friends and visitors from the local community, enjoyed the show after seeing the event advertised on Maun View Care Home’s Facebook page.

Lucy, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at the home, commented:

“The afternoon was fantastic, everyone was smiling and dancing and singing along. Alex, who performs the Young Elvis Tribute, is incredible with our residents. He puts on an amazing show and gets everyone involved.”

Following the performance, Alex spent time visiting residents individually, posing for personal photographs, handing out flowers and chatting with everyone. This personal touch made the afternoon especially meaningful and reinforced why Elvis remains a firm favourite among Maun View residents.

Relatives who attended shared their appreciation, saying:

“It was a great afternoon, Young Elvis is amazing and great with all of the residents.”

Members of the public who joined the event added:

“Thank you for such a wonderful afternoon, it was great to come along and join.”

The atmosphere throughout the event was described as electric, with residents, relatives and staff singing along, dancing and even joining Elvis on stage. One particularly special moment came when JG, a resident who will be celebrating his 90th birthday later this month, shared his wish to sing with Elvis. Young Elvis invited him to perform “Hound Dog” together, creating a touching highlight that felt like a real concert moment. Photographs of the performance have since been printed and placed in JG’s room as a lasting memory.

Events like this play an important role at Maun View Care Home, bringing residents together, encouraging movement, joy and connection, and strengthening bonds with families and the wider community.Cal Elvis Wellbeing Maun View John Elvis Wellbeing Maun View
