Residents of Longview care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a wonderful day out, taking a minibus trip to a local café for lunch, followed by a special cinema screening of The Sound of Music.
Hazel, one of the residents who attended the screening, shared her joy following the trip: “I loved it, loads of memories came flooding back!”
The atmosphere throughout the day was very fun, with everyone having a great time. A standout highlight was hearing residents singing along to the iconic songs during the film, filling the cinema with smiles and nostalgia.
Trips like this are incredibly important, as they encourage residents to get out into the community and experience meaningful activities beyond the home. By listening carefully to residents’ suggestions in meetings and acting on their ideas, the team continues to promote independence, choice and wellbeing.
