Residents and staff at Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together to celebrate World Book Day on 5 March with a morning full of creativity, colour and fun.
The home was filled with laughter as staff and residents dressed up in a variety of imaginative costumes inspired by well-known books and characters. The celebration included a craft session where residents created their own personalised bookmarks, followed by a lively sing-along that everyone could enjoy.
The event forms part of Windmill House’s annual tradition of marking World Book Day, bringing the community together to celebrate storytelling, creativity and shared experiences.
Residents also shared how much they enjoyed the celebration, commenting that they had a “fabulous morning” and praising the effort staff had put into their colourful costumes.
The atmosphere throughout the event was described as creative, colourful and full of fun, with one of the highlights being the fantastic effort made by everyone who took part in dressing up.
