Residents at Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were delighted to welcome pupils from Edwalton Primary School on 23 March 2026 as part of a heartwarming intergenerational project exploring the theme “Living in Edwalton.”
During the visit, children aged five and six spent the morning engaging with residents, staff, and family members, sharing stories and presenting their schoolwork about life in the local area. Many residents, who have long-standing connections to Edwalton, enjoyed recognising familiar places and reminiscing about their own experiences, sparking meaningful conversations across generations.
Sue, Lifestyle Coordinator at Leawood Manor said:
“We were so excited to receive a visit from the pupils of Edwalton Primary School. The children have been working on a project about life in Edwalton and came to share their stories with our residents, many of whom are familiar with the area. They loved looking at the children’s work and chatting about places they recognised. It was a wonderful opportunity to share memories, spark conversations, and enjoy time together across generations. A huge thank you to the pupils and teachers for all their hard work on the project and for bringing so much joy to our home.”
Leawood Manor is committed to enriching the lives of its residents by creating strong community links and providing meaningful activities that promote wellbeing, companionship, and a sense of belonging.
