Longview care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, recently hosted a heartwarming tea party to celebrate resident Phyllis reaching the incredible milestone of her 103rd birthday. The special celebration took place on Thursday, 9 April, bringing together family members, fellow residents, and staff for an afternoon filled with joy and laughter.
The event was thoughtfully planned in collaboration with Phyllis’s family to ensure the day was truly personal. Set in a traditional tea party atmosphere, Phyllis was surrounded by loved ones and friends, with residents and staff presenting her with gifts and warm birthday wishes.
The atmosphere throughout the celebration was described as joyful and uplifting. A standout moment of the day came when the home’s management team, staff, residents, and visitors gathered together to sing Happy Birthday, creating a touching tribute that made Phyllis feel truly celebrated.
Phyllis’s daughter, Anna, expressed her gratitude, saying:
“Thank you so much for making my mum feel so special. She has had such a lovely day and has been made to feel like Queen for the day!”
Celebrating milestone birthdays is an important part of life at Longview, reflecting the home’s commitment to honouring residents’ lives and creating a strong sense of community throughout the home. Events like these not only recognise individual achievements but also bring people together in meaningful ways.
