On 21st May 2026, Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly celebrated International Culture Day, bringing residents and staff together to recognise and enjoy the richness of cultures, traditions, languages and communities from around the world. This year, the home placed a special focus on Spain, creating a vibrant and engaging celebration filled with delicious food, themed attire and shared cultural experiences.
The home’s talented kitchen team worked incredibly hard to prepare an authentic Spanish-inspired lunch for residents and staff to enjoy. The menu featured a delicious Chicken Paella served with warm buttered bread, followed by fresh fruit salad soaked in peach schnapps and served with cherry liqueur ice cream. Adding to the atmosphere, staff embraced the occasion by dressing in traditional Spanish-themed attire, helping to create a lively and immersive celebration throughout the home.
The event provided residents and staff with a valuable opportunity to celebrate and learn about different cultures while promoting inclusion, understanding and respect between people from diverse backgrounds. Through food, music and shared experiences, the day brought everyone together in a fun and meaningful way.
