Residents at Lancaster Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, welcomed their families, friends, and staff on 27 June 2026 for a vibrant BBQ and Caribbean Culture Day, enjoying delicious food, live music, and plenty of laughter.
The event featured a barbecue, Caribbean-inspired dishes, live entertainment from a singer, a raffle, and activities that brought everyone together. Residents enjoyed singing, dancing, socialising, and spending quality time with loved ones in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The celebration was organised as part of the home’s wellbeing and activities programme to celebrate Caribbean culture and encourage meaningful social connections. The live singer and raffle were particular highlights, creating smiles and lasting memories for everyone involved.
Many residents and relatives commented on the wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and fantastic entertainment. One resident said, “It felt like being on holiday.”
Sona, Lifestyle Coordinator, said: “The atmosphere was lively, joyful, and welcoming. It was wonderful to see residents singing along to the music, dancing, chatting with their family and friends, and enjoying the delicious food. There was a real sense of togetherness and community throughout the day, which made the celebration so special.”
The event highlighted the importance of bringing people together through meaningful activities that celebrate cultural diversity, encourage friendship, and promote wellbeing.
