Alexandra House Celebrates Resident Ada’s 106th Birthday!

Alexandra House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, was filled with music and plenty of cake as residents, relatives and team members came together to celebrate a very special milestone – Ada’s 106th birthday.

Born in the East End of London within the sound of the Bow Bells, Ada is a proud Cockney and a much-loved resident. To make her 106th birthday especially memorable, the team organised an afternoon party complete with live music from singer Paul Bormond.

One of the highlights came when Ada took to the microphone herself and sang along to one of her favourite songs, much to the delight of everyone gathered for the occasion.

Ada also thoroughly approved of her birthday cake, describing it simply as: “Fantastic cake.”

Her son, Terry, praised the celebration and the care his mother receives at Alexandra House. He said: “It was truly exceptional in every way, including the caring and love shown to Mum by the staff.”

Reflecting on the birthday celebrations, he added: “It was all very memorable, including the fantastic cake, of which Mum had two portions!”

Singer Paul said: “It was an honour singing for Ada.

Events like these are at the heart of life at Alexandra House, celebrating our residents’ individuality and the special milestones that mean so much.
