Residents at Westwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a special visit from Sparken Hill Academy, welcoming children and teachers for a morning of creativity ahead of Remembrance Day.
During the visit, Westwood residents and children worked together to make and paint poppies. Once finished, their creations were displayed outside the home, creating a lovely tribute to mark the occasion.
The morning gave Westwood residents and pupils the opportunity to spend time together and take part in a meaningful activity. Staff were delighted to welcome the school back, with the teachers sharing how much they enjoy visiting Westwood.
Westwood Care Home has a close relationship with its local community and values opportunities for different generations to come together. Visits like this help build connections between residents and local school children, while giving everyone the chance to take part in meaningful occasions such as Remembrance Day.
