On Thursday 3rd April, Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, organised a visit to Rio Bingo Hall. A group of eight residents enjoyed the outing, which was finished off with lunch on Canvey Island.
The idea for this trip arose from residents who used to frequent the Rio Bingo Hall before moving to Longview and had expressed their wish to return during residents’ meetings.
Janet, one of Longview‘s residents, had also worked there, adding personal meaning to the visit. She commented, “I used to work at the Rio Bingo, so for me personally it was great to be back there; I have missed it!”
The atmosphere was full of fun and laughter, with everyone enjoying the day. A highlight of the trip was when one of the residents won £3 in the game, adding an extra spark of excitement to the outing.
This outing reflects Longview’s commitment to providing residents with memorable and meaningful experiences that connect them with their pasts and enrich their daily lives.
