Residents, staff, relatives, and members of the community came together at Bracebridge Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, on 8 January 2026 to celebrate Elvis Presley’s 91st birthday with a special Elvis-themed afternoon tea.
The afternoon began in the café shortly after lunch, with residents enjoying a cup of tea and sweet treats. Guests then formed teams to take part in an Elvis-themed quiz, with resident Gillian impressively answering every question correctly and winning the friendly competition. The celebration continued with a sing-along of Elvis’s greatest hits, followed by sandwiches, scones, and cakes to round off the day.
Residents and relatives also shared their enjoyment. Eileen, one of the residents, said it was “a lovely afternoon spent with friends and family,” while one relative added that it was “an amazing opportunity to sing, laugh, chat amongst friends and enjoy some nice sweet treats.”
The event was inspired by the many residents who are lifelong Elvis fans, providing an opportunity to celebrate a shared interest and relive cherished memories from their younger years. Activities like this not only entertain but also help foster connection and reminiscence, creating joyful, meaningful moments within the Bracebridge Court community.
