Tools Down

“Tools Down” is a dedicated time each day when all departments pause their tasks to focus fully on residents. During this time, staff spend meaningful one-to-one time through conversation and activities. This approach supports people living with dementia by building trust, improving communication, encouraging engagement, and promoting dignity, independence, and overall wellbeing.

Dementia Champions

Dementia Champions are team members chosen to complete dedicated training, developing additional skills and knowledge to support people living with dementia. They help guide and support other staff, sharing good practice across the home, leading to more confident teams and consistently high-quality, person-centred care for residents.

Protected Mealtimes

Protected mealtimes ensure residents can enjoy their meals without interruptions, creating a calm and comfortable environment. Staff provide dedicated support, minimise distractions, and promote meaningful interaction, helping to maintain dignity, encourage independence, and support overall wellbeing during mealtimes.
