Residents, families, and staff at Ivy Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 2 February 2026 to celebrate and say goodbye to Eva at a surprise leaving party filled with laughter, music, and a few happy tears.
The event was organised as a heartfelt way to show Eva just how special she has been to everyone at Ivy Court. The celebration included live singers, bush tucker trails, and a quiz, creating a fun and memorable atmosphere for all involved.
Stacey, Home Manager, shared how meaningful the day was for residents and staff alike.
“Residents are incredibly sad to see Eva leave, but they are also happy to see her moving on to something she is truly passionate about.”
The idea for the celebration came from a group decision, with residents, families, and staff all wanting to mark Eva’s departure in a way that reflected the positive impact she has had.
While the atmosphere was joyful, the day was also filled with emotion. One standout moment came when Eva walked through the door and everyone shouted “surprise,” bringing smiles, laughter, and tears all at once.
The event served as a meaningful send-off, celebrating Eva’s contribution and ensuring she leaves knowing how valued and appreciated she has been by the whole community at Ivy Court.
