The Whitecroft Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with laughter, warmth, and positive energy on the 18th November 2025 when children from Tree Tops paid a special visit to residents, creating a memorable intergenerational experience for all involved.

The visit was organised to support residents’ wellbeing, particularly for those who do not often receive visitors and can sometimes feel lonely. Throughout the day, Tree Tops children were welcomed into residents’ rooms, the lounge, and the kitchen, where they spent time chatting, serving tea and biscuits, and sharing joyful moments together.

Residents, families, carers, and the Tree Tops children all took part in the visit, which highlighted the powerful impact of intergenerational connection. The children’s presence brought companionship, comfort, and genuine happiness, helping to reduce anxiety and lift spirits among residents.

The atmosphere during the event was described as warm, calm, and full of joy. Gentle conversations, smiles, and laughter flowed naturally as children and residents interacted in a relaxed and friendly setting.

A standout moment came when the children danced with residents—an instant highlight that had everyone clapping, cheering, and shouting “yahoo!” in celebration.

Aamina, Activities Coordinator at The Whitecroft, commented:
“Our residents absolutely love visits from the Tree Tops children. These moments of connection are incredibly important for their emotional wellbeing. Seeing the joy on their faces reminds us how meaningful intergenerational engagement can be. The children bring companionship, energy, and happiness that truly brightens everyone’s day.”

The Whitecroft Care Home remains committed to creating enriching experiences that promote wellbeing, connection, and a strong sense of community for all residents. This visit from Tree Tops was a powerful reminder of how simple acts of togetherness can create lasting joy.
