Low Furlong Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was delighted to welcome a local masseuse recently, who generously offered free massages to staff as a heartfelt thank-you for their continued hard work and dedication to the community.
Clare, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at Low Furlong, shared the positive impact the gesture had on the team, saying:
“It was a lovely gesture that had a big impact on the staff’s wellbeing and morale.”
The masseuse visited Low Furlong with the intention of giving back to those who care for the community. Instead of offering his services at a local leisure centre, he chose to support the staff directly, recognising the vital role they play in the lives of residents and families.
Only staff were involved in the wellbeing event, taking time to unwind, relax, and enjoy a rare moment of being looked after. The atmosphere was described as calm, relaxed and full of smiles, with each massage offering a welcome boost during the busy festive period.
This act of kindness also strengthened community connections, reminding staff that their compassion and dedication are truly valued by those around them.
One standout highlight of the day was seeing staff completely switch off and relax, even if only for a short time, many expressed how much the thoughtful gesture meant to them.
