Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were delighted to see Allwyn UK Sporting Memories write a wonderful article about their recent visit to Park View, celebrating a memorable afternoon spent with residents.
In September, Park View welcomed eleven enthusiastic volunteers from Allwyn UK, operator of The National Lottery, who joined them as part of the Essex-wide Sporting Memories project.
During their visit, residents, supported by our staff and the Allwyn volunteers, enjoyed a lively walk in the park filled with singing, dancing, and plenty of laughter. Indoors, the volunteers helped lead ball games and supported creative activities, from biscuit decorating to colouring.
Tara Brown, Retail Sales Executive at Allwyn UK, shared in the article:
“We had an amazing volunteer afternoon at Park View, Witham. Everyone really joined in the activities and helped to make the session really fun. It was great to see so many smiling faces.”
Our Lifestyle Co-ordinator, Diane, also expressed her appreciation:
“A big thank you to everyone who attended the care home. The residents were so happy and talked about it all morning the next day, they’ll remember it for days to come.”
As highlighted in the article, Park View is proud to be part of the Essex-funded Sporting Memories project. We also benefit from weekly visits from Nick, the Sporting Memories Apprentice based at Witham Leisure Centre, who delivers Boccia and other physical activities for our residents.
The coverage by Allwyn UK Sporting Memories truly reflects the positive impact these sessions have, bringing joy, connection, and meaningful activity to residents, including those who are more frail.
Park View are grateful for the partnership and look forward to creating more special memories together.
