Residents at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a vibrant celebration of British heritage on 23 June 2026 as the home hosted a special British Culture Day as part of its Year of Culture programme.
The themed event brought residents, care staff, management, and the lifestyle team together for a day filled with traditional music, British-inspired refreshments, decorations, and engaging activities designed to celebrate the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
Throughout the day, residents enjoyed singing along to classic British songs, sharing memories from years gone by, participating in themed discussions and games, and spending quality time with friends and staff in a warm and welcoming environment.
A Lifestyle Coordinator at Park View said: “We had a wonderful event celebrating British Culture Day, bringing residents together to enjoy traditional activities and shared memories.”
The event was organised to provide residents with meaningful opportunities for reminiscence, social interaction, and emotional connection. By celebrating familiar traditions and cultural experiences, the day helped promote wellbeing while strengthening the sense of community within the home.
The Home Manager added: “As it is a Year of Culture, we wanted to host something different. We chose to celebrate British culture to create a meaningful and engaging experience for everyone.”
