Residents and staff at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a truly special day thanks to a visit from Sporting Memories, proudly sponsored by the National Lottery. The event took place both in Witham Park and at Parkview itself, creating a vibrant day of activities, connection, and fun.
The day was packed with energy and variety. Residents took part in walks through the park, tried their hand at colourful art activities, and even enjoyed biscuit decorating. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement, as memories were shared and new friendships made.
Lifestyle Coordinator at Park View Care Home Diane Anderson said: “What a fantastic day it was, so nice to meet such lovely people and chat whilst enjoying activities.”
One of the highlights came during a lively session of musical movement in the park, where members of the public joined residents in the fun, making the event even more memorable.
The idea for the day stemmed from Park View’s regular walking groups, usually held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Typically attracting around 20 participants, this time the numbers soared to 36, thanks to the help of Sporting Memories volunteers.
The event not only brought joy to residents but also highlighted the importance of building strong community connections. Park View Care Home expressed its gratitude to Sporting Memories and the National Lottery for helping to create such a meaningful and uplifting day.
