Residents of Carolyne House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, along with relatives, volunteers and members of the local community came together for a sponsored walk to raise funds for St Mary’s Church in Chadwell St Mary.
The sponsored walk gave residents of Carolyne House the opportunity to play a role in supporting an important local cause and for many, being able to contribute to the fundraising effort provided a real sense of achievement.
One attendee described the occasion as: “A very good community event, it was great to see everyone coming together.”
As the walk came to an end, there was a particularly memorable moment when Reverend Kate congratulated participants by giving everyone high fives for completing the challenge. Her encouragement was a fitting celebration of the effort and enthusiasm shown throughout the event.
The Carolyne House annual sponsored walk has become a valued opportunity for residents to connect with their local community and demonstrates the positive difference a community can make when people come together for a shared purpose.
