Stafford Hall Care Home, part of Runwood Homes Group, was alive with laughter, music, and festive cheer on Saturday 6 December 2025, as residents, families, and the wider community came together for a joyful Christmas party celebrating togetherness and the spirit of the season.
The event was an afternoon packed with entertainment, festive food, and memorable surprises. Residents and guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks, including mulled wine, while a live performance from singer Julie Jive helped set the Christmas mood with dancing and singalongs.
Adding to the fun, there was some special festive visitors, including Santa Claus and the Grinch, who delighted residents and children alike. Santa visited everyone individually, checking who was on the naughty or nice list and posing for photographs, while the arrival of the Grinch caused shrieks of laughter as children playfully ran away.
A surprise visit from the local police added an extra layer of excitement, with PC Hawley, the community officer, joining in the festivities. Residents enjoyed jokingly “arresting” one another for breach of the peace, and even the Grinch was humorously taken into custody, much to everyone’s amusement.
The afternoon continued with dancing, singing, a festive raffle, and prizes, ensuring families and residents were fully involved in the celebrations.
Families and community members shared their appreciation following the event. Anthony described the Christmas party as “a thoroughly lovely afternoon,” while the Duncan family said, “It was really lovely to see everyone having a nice time, and Mum really enjoyed it.”
The atmosphere throughout the event was electric, friendly, and full of laughter. A standout highlight was the residents’ reactions to Santa, the Grinch, and the community police officer, with smiles and laughter echoing around the room.
