On the 24th of August, Bracebridge Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, in Atherstone hosted a spectacular and heartwarming Summer Fete. The event, brimming with joy, laughter, and community spirit, was organised to directly enhance the quality of life for the home’s residents.
Originally planned to take place in the beautiful gardens of Bracebridge Court, the fete was moved indoors due to inclement weather. However, this did not dampen the spirits or vibrancy of the day. The indoor fete featured a wide array of activities, stalls, and games that delighted attendees of all ages. Highlights included traditional hook-a-duck games, face painting (enjoyed by both children and adults), and a variety of delicious home-cooked food and craft stalls. Local celebrity Arthur Stone made a special guest appearance, adding extra excitement to the event.
Live music and a bouncy castle further contributed to the festive atmosphere, encouraging residents, their families, and visitors from the local community to come together in celebration.
The success of the fete was a testament to the dedication and hard work of Bracebridge Court’s Lifestyle Coordinators, Donna and Elaine. Their efforts, combined with the generosity and support of local volunteers, staff, and residents’ families, made the day truly memorable.
The local businesses also played a crucial role in the event’s success by donating bric-a-brac, prizes for the tombola and raffle, and various other contributions.
Bracebridge Court is proud to announce that the fete raised an impressive £600, which will be used to enhance the daily lives of their residents. The care home is committed to maintaining this tradition as an annual event, not only to raise vital funds but also to strengthen the bonds within the community.
