Residents at Westwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a lovely morning out on Wednesday 21 January 2026, taking a minibus trip to Worksop Library for coffee and cake.
Five residents joined the outing, supported by staff, as part of Westwood’s ongoing commitment to promoting wellbeing, mobility, and community connection. The trip provided a relaxed and sociable opportunity for residents to enjoy a change of scenery and spend quality time together outside the home.
Natasha and Chloe, Lifestyle Co-ordinators at Westwood, commented:
“Our five lovely ladies had a wonderful time. It was so nice to see everyone enjoying the morning and making the most of getting out into the community.”
The idea for the trip came directly from residents themselves, after being asked where they would like to go. Listening to residents’ wishes helps ensure outings are meaningful and enjoyable, supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.
The atmosphere throughout the morning was described as wonderful, with plenty of smiles, conversation, and enjoyment shared over coffee and cake. A standout highlight was simply seeing residents out and about, relaxed and happy, making the most of their time together.
Community trips like this play an important role in supporting independence, mobility, and overall quality of life for residents at Westwood.
