Residents from Windle Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were thrilled to take part in a heartwarming musical event organised by Runwood Homes, bringing together over 140 residents from across the region to celebrate the joy and unity that music brings.
The event, held at the beautiful St Mary’s Church, was a vibrant and emotional day filled with singing, dancing, and new friendships. After weeks of rehearsals at Windle Court, residents were ready to raise their voices in harmony with others from different homes.
Resident Ann commented,
“What a great chance to get out and socialise with other residents from other homes and to join in harmony for some amazing singing.”
Resident Kitty added,
“What great fun! I would love to do it again!”
The atmosphere throughout the event was warm, inclusive, and filled with smiles, laughter, and the sound of voices coming together as one.
The event highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for residents to engage beyond the walls of their homes. Charlotte, Lifestyle Coordinator at Windle Court, said,
“It gave our residents the joy of visiting a new place, meeting new people, and bonding over a shared love of music.”
The idea was born from Windle Court’s commitment to wellbeing and community, recognising how deeply music can touch lives, encourage social interaction, and enhance mental and emotional health.
