Windmill House Celebrates International Dog Day

Residents at Windmill House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a wonderful day celebrating International Dog Day, with a special trip to Dog Trust Snetterton.

The day began with residents heading out on the minibus to visit Dog Trust Snetterton. Residents had the opportunity to meet Paige, who works at Dog Trust, and enjoyed a guided tour around the grounds while learning more about the important work the team does to care for and rehome dogs.

Residents particularly enjoyed meeting the dogs waiting for their forever homes and seeing first-hand how the dedicated Dog Trust team works to support them.

One resident said: “A really lovely morning out getting to speak to Paige, who works for Dog Trust, showing us all around the grounds and meeting all the beautiful dogs they rehome.”

Another resident summed up the day perfectly, saying: “Doggy cuddles…the perfect day!”

The dog-themed fun continued in the afternoon when CTL Shannon visited Windmill House with her dog, Freddie. Freddie was a huge hit with residents, who enjoyed plenty of cuddles, and time spent together.

A family member commented: “How gorgeous, seeing all these beautiful dogs. And great Shannon popped in with Freddie for afternoon cuddles with the residents. Looks like a lovely day had by all.”

From meeting dogs looking for their forever homes at Dog Trust, to welcoming Freddie for an afternoon of cuddles, International Dog Day at Windmill House was certainly a day to remember.
