World Social Work Day coffee morning celebrates community spirit and appreciation for Blue Light Holders

On Tuesday 19th March 2024, Westwood care home in Worksop hosted a heartwarming Coffee Morning in honour of World Social Work Day. The event brought together a group of individuals, including residents, staff, families, friends, and esteemed blue light holders from the community.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie as attendees gathered to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and homemade cakes prepared with love by our dedicated kitchen staff. This special occasion also saw the active involvement of our residents, who eagerly participated in the event’s planning and execution.

Among the guests were wellbeing leads, nurses, a transport ambulance professional, and other essential blue light holders, whose invaluable contributions to our community were celebrated and recognized. The entire Westwood family came together to express gratitude for their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to serving others.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, the Well-Being Leads at Westwood care home stated, “Our Coffee Morning was not just about sharing a cup of coffee; it was a heartfelt gesture to appreciate and honour the hard work and selfless service of our blue light holders. Their commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community deserves recognition and gratitude.”

World Social Work Day serves as a poignant reminder of the crucial role that social workers and other blue light holders play in society. It is a day to acknowledge their resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Westwood extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the Coffee Morning and joined us in celebrating World Social Work Day. Together, we reiterate our commitment to supporting and uplifting our community’s heroes.
