Local Residents Take Action to Keep Their Environment Litter-Free

Residents of Jubilee Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, have demonstrated their commitment to the community by participating in regular litter-picking events aimed at maintaining a clean and attractive environment. On the 14th of October, three enthusiastic residents took part in a litter-picking session, donning printed jackets and gathering the necessary equipment to help clean up their neighbourhood.

These community efforts not only contribute to a cleaner local area but also play a vital role in protecting wildlife, including endangered species, by reducing harmful litter. Jubilee Court’s community ambassador, Christopher, expressed the importance of such initiatives, noting that litter picking helps reduce pollution. He shared his frustration with seeing litter and cigarette ends carelessly discarded and highlighted the positive impact of taking action to keep the environment clean.

Deborah Mills, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Jubilee Court, emphasised the additional benefits of litter picking. She explained that, beyond environmental cleanliness, it also provides physical exercise, fresh air, and the chance for residents to engage with others in the community. “It’s a fantastic way for residents to stay active, meet new people, and make a real difference in the local area,” she remarked.

The residents of Jubilee Court remain dedicated to preserving a clean and welcoming community, encouraging others to participate in these ongoing efforts, as every contribution helps create a significant impact.
