On the 15th of November, Greenbanks care home joined with Victoria House Day Centre, both part of the Runwood Homes group, to support BBC’s annual Children in Need campaign. Staff and residents came together at Asda for a special fundraising event, where they had the opportunity to assist Pudsey Bear in raising funds for children in need across the UK.
During the one-hour event, the volunteers collected donations, raising just under £100 for the charity, thanks to the generosity of the local community.
When asked about her experience, Pat, a resident from Victoria House Day Centre, shared her appreciation. “I never would have thought a grandma like me would ever get the opportunity to do something like this!” she said, reflecting on the joy of being part of such a meaningful cause.
The event proved to be a wonderful opportunity for the staff and residents to come together, make a difference, and spread positivity within the community. Greenbanks and Victoria House are proud to have contributed to this vital cause and look forward to continuing their support for charitable initiatives in the future.
