In a heartfelt effort to support those experiencing homelessness in Nottingham, the residents and staff at Jubilee Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, have come together to launch a Wish Tree in their reception area. The initiative, which began on Thursday the 21st of November, encourages visitors and staff to select a tag from the tree and contribute essential items for homeless children, men, and women.

Deborah Mills, Lifestyle Coordinator at Jubilee Court, shared how the idea came to life:

“After a recent trip into Nottingham, we were struck by the growing number of people experiencing homelessness. It’s heartbreaking to see so many without basic necessities. We wanted to do something to help, and that’s when the idea of a Wish Tree came about.”

Residents at Jubilee Court quickly rallied behind the initiative, offering their support and brainstorming items that would make a meaningful difference. The tags on the tree list practical necessities such as nappies, hats, blankets, gloves, and other essential winter items—all aimed at providing comfort and care during the harsh winter months.

Jubilee Court care home invites anyone who wishes to contribute to visit their reception area, select a tag, and donate the listed item. Together, they aim to brighten the holiday season for Nottingham’s homeless population—one wish at a time.
