Residents, staff, and family members at Westwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, have been enjoying an engaging four-week fitness program, designed to boost well-being, mobility, and coordination. The initiative, led by David from the Community Care Team, took place at the Westwood Day Centre, where participants took part in a variety of exercises aimed at keeping them active.
The initiative, organised by Lifestyle Coordinators Chloe and Natasha, saw residents, staff, and family members come together to prioritise health and movement in a fun and social setting.
Residents responded enthusiastically to the sessions, with many expressing how much they enjoyed keeping fit. The initiative was designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, could take part and benefit from gentle movement and exercise.
“This was a fantastic way to keep active and promote overall well-being,” said Chloe and Natasha. “It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, having fun, and supporting each other.”
The atmosphere throughout the sessions was lively and engaging, with participants encouraging one another and embracing the benefits of staying active. The initiative has been a huge success, and with such positive feedback, Westwood hopes to continue similar initiatives in the future, ensuring residents remain active, happy, and connected.
