Residents of Bennett Lodge care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, took part in an informative dementia awareness session, led by Regional Dementia Lead, Sarah Dodsworth. The session was arranged in response to residents’ requests and aimed to provide a better understanding of dementia and its impact.
Residents Janet, Irene, Maureen, Alvina, and Shirley actively participated in the meeting, asking a variety of questions and engaging in meaningful discussions. The session was followed by an afternoon tea, allowing residents and staff, including Jack Hughes, to continue the conversation in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The event was designed to empower residents with knowledge about dementia, encouraging awareness and understanding within the care home community. The interactive nature of the session ensured that residents not only learned valuable information but also felt involved in the discussion.
