Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, kicked off 2026 in style with its first family event of the year, a dazzling Great Gatsby–themed 1920s celebration, held on Saturday 10 January. The event brought together residents, families and staff for an afternoon filled with music, laughter and shared memories.

The lounge was transformed into a colourful, glittering space as residents and guests donned feather headbands and glamorous outfits, embracing the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. Entertainment was provided by live singer Beverley Stone, whose powerful voice had everyone singing along, dancing and enjoying the moment. Guests were treated to a selection of canapés, drinks and refreshments throughout the afternoon.

Louise, Lifestyle Lead at Rosedale Court, said:
Our monthly family days are very important to both residents and relatives. With our lifestyle themed events the atmosphere and fun is great and the interaction is wonderful. We are very lucky to have such strong family support who love attending our events.”

The event received glowing feedback from residents and families alike:

  • “What a fabulous day, Beverley is such an amazing singer — we love her voice.”Family of Charlie
  • “We have loved our first family event, it’s been wonderful and mum loved it.”Family of Gilly
  • “The singer was great and it was good to see all the residents enjoying themselves.”Family of Anthony

Residents also shared their enjoyment of the day:

  • “I’ve really loved the music. It’s been great to sing along. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.”Jean
  • “What a fabulous day, we’ve had so much fun.”Pat
  • “I’m so glad I came out to the lounge and have really enjoyed the day. The singer has such a powerful voice.”Barry
  • “The headbands are great and look so good.”Sheila

The idea for the event followed the huge success of a Great Gatsby day held last year. With residents expressing their love for Beverley Stone’s performances, Louise organised the event for the second year running, and it once again proved to be a highlight.

With a brilliant atmosphere, plenty of dancing and singing, and residents up on their feet together, the standout moment of the day was undoubtedly Beverley Stone’s incredible performance, which brought everyone together in celebration.
