Residents, relatives, and staff at Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on Friday 30 January 2026 to celebrate National Croissant Day with a themed coffee morning filled with delicious treats, socialising, and games.
The event was organised by the wellbeing team and featured a variety of freshly filled croissants, including options with clotted cream and strawberries or Nutella, alongside refreshments and a lively game of picture bingo. The morning provided a relaxed and enjoyable setting for residents and their loved ones to spend quality time together.
Lucy, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented:
“It was a lovely morning. We had a coffee morning and bingo, and with our croissants we had clotted cream and strawberries or Nutella. Everyone really enjoyed it.”
Family members who attended also shared positive feedback, describing the event as a “lovely morning” and commenting on how appealing the croissants looked. They praised the welcoming atmosphere, the variety of flowers on display, and noted that staff “had gone all out to make the event a success.”
The idea for the celebration came from the wellbeing team’s research into memorable dates during January, with National Croissant Day chosen as a fun and engaging theme. Events like this form part of Maun View Care Home’s wider programme of themed activities, designed to bring variety, enjoyment, and meaningful experiences to residents’ daily lives.
The atmosphere throughout the morning was warm and cheerful, with residents and relatives clearly enjoying the occasion, and the croissants proving to be a particular hit.
