Evelyn May House, part of the Runwood Homes Group, is proud to share a touching story of resident Sandy and her daughter Ally.
Sandy and Ally have shared an incredibly close bond since Ally was born, a relationship that has only grown stronger over the years. Ally describes her mum as her best friend, a reflection of the deep trust, affection, and companionship they share.
For four years, Ally worked abroad as a holiday representative. Although the distance was challenging, mother and daughter remained in constant contact, speaking daily and supporting one another despite being miles apart.
Following the passing of Sandy’s husband last year, Sandy made the decision to move from Somerset to Essex to be closer to Ally. She is now a resident at Evelyn May House, where their close relationship continues to thrive. Ally visits her mum every day, spending quality time together and ensuring their strong connection remains a central part of Sandy’s life.
This beautiful mother-and-daughter relationship highlights the importance of family bonds and emotional wellbeing at Evelyn May House, where residents are encouraged and supported to maintain close relationships with their loved ones.
This heartwarming story is being shared as part of Runwood Homes’ company-wide initiative, Valentine’s Takeover at Runwood Homes — a special week dedicated to celebrating love in all its forms, from friendship and companionship to kindness and care across Runwood Homes communities.
