Residents and staff at Westwood Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a World Book Day celebration on 4 March, featuring a special visit from Andy & Co and their talented trained poodles, Fizz and Chanel.

The delightful duo entertained residents with an engaging performance that included impressive tricks and plenty of cuddles, while Andy also amazed the audience with a selection of fun magic tricks. The event created a lively and uplifting morning that had everyone smiling from start to finish.

Natasha and Chloe, Lifestyle Coordinators at Westwood, said:
“The whole morning was amazing from start to finish.”

The visit came about after the team discovered Andy & Co on social media and felt it would be the perfect activity for residents, many of whom love animals.

Animal interactions are widely recognised for their positive impact on wellbeing, and the event provided residents with an opportunity to enjoy companionship, laughter and entertainment in a relaxed setting.

The atmosphere throughout the morning was described as joyful and engaging, with residents thoroughly enjoying the performances and the chance to spend time with Fizz and Chanel. Events like this continue to play an important role in bringing enrichment, happiness and meaningful experiences to life at Westwood.
