Residents at Windmill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a joyful Mother’s Day celebration on 15 March 2026, as the care home hosted a special brunch for residents and their families.
The event brought together mums, nans, aunties, and loved ones from across the home for a morning filled with good food, live music, and quality time together. Families joined their loved ones for a delicious brunch prepared by the home’s kitchen team, with guests also enjoying a celebratory glass of prosecco.
Adding to the festivities, guests were treated to live entertainment from singer Tony, which created a lively atmosphere and had residents and families smiling, singing along, and even dancing together.
The dining area was decorated with beautifully set tables and bright daffodils to create a welcoming and cheerful setting. The delicious brunch was prepared by Head Chef Chris and Kitchen Assistant Skye, with all staff coming together to ensure the celebration ran smoothly.
Steph, Lifestyle Coordinator at Windmill House, said:
“Mother’s Day is such a special occasion and it was wonderful to bring residents and their families together to celebrate. We usually hold an afternoon tea, but this year we decided to try a brunch instead and it went down a treat.”
Family members shared their appreciation for the event. The daughter of one resident, said:
“Thank you Windmill House staff – an absolutely fantastic Mother’s Day morning.”
Another daughter added:
“Lovely morning full of love and happiness.”
A resident also expressed their gratitude, saying:
“A big thank you for making our Mother’s Day so special.”
The atmosphere throughout the morning was described as “magical”, with laughter, music, and dancing filling the room as families spent meaningful time together.
The highlight of the event was seeing the smiles and joy shared between residents and their families, with many expressing heartfelt thanks to staff for their hard work and dedication in creating such a beautiful celebration.
