Residents from Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed a wonderful day out visiting the William Morris Gallery and Walthamstow Market, creating opportunities for reminiscence, social connection, and community engagement.
The outing was suggested by Allison, who felt that resident Julie would particularly enjoy a visit to the William Morris Gallery due to her love of art galleries. Julie commented on what a beautiful day it was and appeared to thoroughly enjoy the experience, taking in both the gallery and the surrounding atmosphere.
Residents Mike, June, and Christine also welcomed the opportunity to revisit Walthamstow Market, sharing that they had not been there for a long time. Returning to the old market area sparked positive conversations and encouraged valuable reminiscence among the group.
The visit demonstrated excellent teamwork from staff and created positive resident experiences throughout the day. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and filled with meaningful conversations, with strong reminiscence work observed from start to finish.
